January
2008:- Anne Gould the
editor of "Lets Talk" a colour magazine produced
by the EADT visited the Boatyard.
This culminated in the March issue of the magazine carrying
a four page article on our venture. This attracted a lot
of interest.
February
2008 - The local newspapers
and media were circulated with RSB promotional material,
in particular seeking more volunteers to act as river guides.
Geoff
Davies spoke live on BBC Suffolk on the activities of the
RSB.
New Marquee arrived at the Boat Yard, destined for the camp
site at Rushbanks farm
March
2008-
(a) Exhibition held at Kingfisher Leisure Centre with RSB
staff
(b) 20 new volunteers who responded to our press release
attended a welcome seminar at the boatyard ( 4 more attended
over Good Friday)
(c) Mid March - We now have 90+ bookings for 2008 which
has already exceeded our 2007 numbers.
(d) Collected four new "Quest" canoes from Norfolk
Marine at Wroxham
(e) Minibus and one of our new Canoes together with RSB
staff at Sudbury Market - interest exceeded all expectations
(f) Environment Agency have cleared the Cattawade Jetties
of all debris and weeds.
April
2008-
(a)First trip down the river successful on April 19th
(b)Bookings now heavily subscribed
May
2008-
(a) Due to heavy demand
now taking bookings for 2009.
(b) B & B now available
for customers
June
2008-
(a) Some
weekends earlier in the month very damp, but all customers
thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
(b) Guestbook facility now added to
web site (main page only)
July/August 2008-
(a) Season
in full swing.
(b) On-line photograph albums updated
