DEDHAM MILL JETTY & SLIPWAY

As a Community Interest Company run entirely by volunteers,
River Stour Boating uses any profits made from its One & Two day canoe excursions, on river projects.

RSB working with Colchester Borough Council we planned and installed a much needed Jetty and Slipway access at Dedham Mill Pond.

Funding for this project was provided by Dedham Vale & The Stour Valley
Project & River Stour Boating.

On behalf of all boating enthusiasts RSB extend their grateful thanks to
Colchester Borough Council for allowing this project to happen during the
refurbishment of their river Car Park.

Unfortunately due to budget cut backs, the Environment Agency River Management Authority could not dredge the section of the river adjacent to the new jetty & slipway.

River Stour Boating Community Interest Company are continuing
their campaign to raise the iron bridge at Wissington,
a Health & Safety hazard for river users.

River Stour Boating volunteers together with arepresentative from Colchester Borough Council and the Dedham Vale & The Stour Valley Project open the jetty for business on Oct 18th 2010.

RSB volunteers are seen here removing shale to give more depth for the craft using this facility.
